Our School Day

Our school attendance ethos is focused on the HEROes concept: Here Everyday Ready on Time. If your child arrives after registration they will receive a late mark which will affect their attendance.

All children attend school between 8.45am and 3.15pm. This is equivalent to 6.5 hours per day or 32.5 hours per week.

Children Being Brought to and Collected from School

We have been revising our policies and procedures in relation to children walking to and from school.

From September 2026, all children in Years Reception to 4 should be brought to school by an adult (person over the age of 16).

From September 2026, all children in Years Reception to 4 must be collected from school by an adult (person over the age of 16) and this person must be on the (blue) "Consent to Collect Form".

From September 2026 children in years 5 and 6 will only be allowed to walk home alone if permission to do this has been granted by parents. At the end of the summer term we will ask all parents with children in current years 4 and 5 to complete a form which states whether your child will be collected or can walk home alone. When children are collected this must be by an adult (person over the age of 16) and this person must be on the (blue) "Consent to Collect Form".

Please make sure you keep the details of who can collect your child up to date. You can make changes to the list by popping into the school office or sending an email to: kingsway.primary@eastriding.gov.uk

Lunch

Children in Foundations Hub (reception and year 1) go for lunch between 11.30am and 12.30pm

Year 2 has lunch time from 12:00pm until 1pm

Year 3 has lunch time from 12.15pm to 1.15pm

Years 4 has lunch time from 12.20pm to 1.20pm

Year 5 and Year 6 have lunch time from 12.25pm to 1.25pm

All children have a mid-morning break. There is also a flexible afternoon break depending on the work they are doing in class.
