Reading regularly at home plays a vital role in every child’s learning journey. When children read frequently — and, most importantly, enjoy reading — they develop stronger language skills, richer vocabularies, and greater confidence in their learning across all subjects. Sharing books together at home not only supports academic progress but also nurtures imagination, curiosity, and a lifelong love of stories. Just a few minutes of reading each day can make a significant difference, helping children to grow as confident, independent learners who see reading as both enjoyable and rewarding.

🎯 What is it?

We’re launching a fun new Reading Rewards System to encourage and celebrate regular reading at home with you!

🙌 How you can help: 

• Read together regularly (10 minutes a day makes a big difference!)
• Talk about the stories you enjoy
• Sign their reading champions bookmark each time they read at home

🏆 How it works:

📖 Read at home (books, comics, eBooks, or even listening to stories!)

✍️ Record it on their book mark and ask an adult to sign.

✅ Each time they complete a bookmark, they’ll post it in the reading champions prize draw box

🎁 The more books they read – the more chances they’ll have to win!

A Free Way to Share the Joy of Reading at Home!

🏡 What is it?

Our Book Swap Shed is a special place where parents and carers can take or donate books to help support and promote reading at home.

🔄 How does it work?

1. Take a Book – Find something new to enjoy either with a coffee or on your holidays!

2. Leave a Book – Donate a gently used book for another parent/carer to enjoy.

3. Swap Often! – Keep checking back for new titles!

• A great way for children to see their adults as readers! -
• Great way to pass on books you have enjoyed

Where is it?

You'll find the Book Swap Shed located on the fence, next to the bike shed.

📅 When can I use it?

The shed is open before/after school, every day.

Please do not leave any material of an unsuitable nature as little eyes may wander as they pass!
